DINA JANSENSON, ESQ. is a practicing attorney and a leading mediator and trainer of conflict resolution techniques.

Ms. Jansenson is a Senior Mediator/Arbitrator for JAMS. She teaches negotiation and mediation at the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Columbia University, and is an adjunct professor of dispute resolution at Brooklyn Law School.

Ms. Jansenson has trained professionals in mediation, negotiation, facilitation, mediation advocacy and alternative dispute resolution techniques in the United States and abroad for various corporations and organizations such as the United Nations, the United States Department of Justice and the United States Information Service.

Trainings and workshops conducted by Ms. Jansenson include:

  • Negotiation and mediation courses at the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Columbia University;

  • Negotiation skills trainings for the United Nations;

  • Enhanced negotiation and alternative dispute resolution trainings for Assistant United States Attorneys, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice;

  • Advanced mediation and negotiation trainings for judges and lawyers in various provinces in Argentina, sponsored by Fundacion Libra;

  • Advanced mediation trainings at the University of Los Andes, Bogota, Colombia;

  • Advanced negotiation and mediation trainings for the Chamber of Commerce, Santiago, Chile;

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution workshops in Costa Rica, sponsored by the United Information Service, U.S. Department of State;

  • Negotiation skills trainings for insurance claims personnel, corporate managers and human resources personnel.
Ms. Jansenson has conducted numerous mediations and arbitrations in a variety of cases, including general commercial, contract, and international:
  • A multi-million dollar complex commercial dispute between and among a European lending institution and several corporations over trademark and lender liability matters;

  • A multi-party dispute between and among governmental agencies and various contractors involving debris removal efforts resulting from Hurricane Georges, in Puerto Rico;

  • Various actions relating to claims of sexual harassment and employment discrimination;

  • A multi-party personal injury dispute involving a hospital, common carrier, food vendor and hospital employee.
Ms. Jansenson has been appointed by various courts and institutions to help resolve pending litigation or claims. Those appointments include: Mediator, U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York; Special Mediator, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department; Arbitrator, International Chamber of Commerce; Arbitrator, American Arbitration Association; Arbitrator, The Private Adjudication Center, Inc. (affiliated with Duke University School of Law).

Ms. Jansenson has authored several articles on ADR, including: ìHow to Represent Your Clients Successfully in Mediation,î 1 New York Litigator, Issue No. 2, November 1995; ìAlternative Dispute Resolution: An Overview,î Law Department Management Advisor, Business laws, Inc., Issue No. 129, December 1, 1994; and ìAlternative Dispute Resolution in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York,î Dispute Resolution Alternatives Supercourse, New York Practicing Law Institute, 1993. She is a contributing author of the Training Manual used by the Academy for Dispute Resolution and author of Advanced Mediation, Tandem International.

Ms. Jansenson is also Of Counsel to the New York law firm of Flemming, Zulack & Williamson, LLP, in New York City. She is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Ms. Jansenson is a national of the United States, Argentina and Israel. She is fluent in Spanish and Hebrew.
