CAROLE GRAU has had a successful and rewarding career as a communications professor, consultant, speaker, trainer, and executive coach. Currently, she is the managing partner of the consulting firm Taliaferro/Grau Assocciates.

She was on the faculty of Brooklyn College, a division of the City University of New York, for 15 years. For the past 16 years she has been on the faculty of Cornell University, School of Industrial Labor Relations, off-campus program. In addition to teaching in the credit program, Carole conducts Speaking and Listening Workshops for Cornell’s Management Development program and conflict workshops for the Labor Studies program. She holds a B.A. and an M.A. from Brooklyn College and an M.Ed. from Teachers’ College, Columbia University.

Carole Grau is a skilled mediator, certified by the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Columbia University. Presently she serves on staff as a senior trainer in negotiation and mediation skills. She has developed and administered a program in peer mediation skills in corporate settings. As a specialist in listening instruction, she has been a consultant for the listening component of the National Teachers Exam. Ms. Grau is a dynamic speaker and insightful listener who models the skills and techniques developed in her workshops.

Ms. Grau is a member of many professional organizations. She has presented numerous papers and conducted seminars and workshops for those groups. She sits on the Board of New York Society for General Semantics. She is a founding member, former Board Member and elected officer of the International Listening Association.
